Production support
The MSP team understands the pressures of film and broadcast production, including tight schedules, quick turnarounds, location restrictions, technical accuracy and the need to deliver reliable solutions that work first time. Whether supporting a major drama, a commercial campaign, a sports media launch or a studio-based recording, MSP brings calm, experienced technical expertise to every project.
Below are some examples of recent projects that we have provided production support for.
This City is Ours – BBC
MSP recently supported the production of This City Is Ours, the gripping Liverpool-based drama that captured national attention with its gritty storyline and powerful on-screen moments.
One of the most memorable action sequences involved a dramatic car crash scene, where lead character Michael is targeted in his black Audi by a gunman, resulting in a high-impact crash. MSP supplied and rigged multiple small action cameras inside the vehicle to capture the scene from a range of angles.
With the sequence filmed live on location using stunt performers, and with limited opportunities for retakes, the camera setup was crucial in helping the production team capture high-quality footage for the final edit.
MSP also supported another scene filmed at the Devonshire House Hotel, featuring a christening celebration and post-ceremony party. For this scene, MSP provided lighting and draping to help create a realistic and atmospheric setting for the production.
Following the success of the series, MSP has been appointed to support the next series and looks forward to continuing its work with productions filmed across the Liverpool City Region.
Anthony – BBC
MSP provided production support for the acclaimed 2020 BBC One drama Anthony, written by Jimmy McGovern.
The film powerfully explores the adult life that Anthony Walker might have lived, had he not been tragically murdered in 2005. One key scene takes place at the fictional Phoenix Turnaround Awards ceremony, where a 25-year-old Anthony attends in support of his close friend Mick. In a moving moment, Mick wins an award and dedicates it to Anthony, crediting him with saving his life.
Filmed in the Liverpool City Region, the scene required a convincing awards ceremony environment within a fictional social club setting.
MSP supplied a large LED screen to help recreate the awards backdrop and provide the production team with the required visual setting for the scene.
Mohamed Salah Train Scene
Working at The Depot with the Liverpool Film Office, MSP constructed a large LED screen environment to support a filmed scene featuring Liverpool FC’s Mohamed Salah.
The production involved a train setting, with MSP’s LED screen used to replicate the moving backdrop outside the carriage. This allowed the production team to create the impression of travel and movement within a controlled filming environment.
The project is a strong example of how MSP’s LED technology and production expertise can be used to create practical, flexible and visually effective solutions for film and commercial shoots.
Liverpool FC Kit Launch – Zut Media
MSP supplied a large LED video wall for the Nike Liverpool FC kit launch produced by Zut Media.
The production featured Liverpool FC players and senior team management interacting with LED screen content as part of the media launch. MSP provided the technical infrastructure required to support the shoot, helping create a dynamic visual environment for the campaign.
MSP regularly works with the Zut Media team, supplying staging, draping, lighting, rigging and AV equipment for a wide range of location shoots, commercial productions and filmed content.
